Texas Firefighter Olympics time!!!!
Every summer, more than a thousand firefighters from all around the
state get together off-duty to represent their department in every
manner of competitive sporting events, from horseshoes to track &
field to volleyball, golf, softball, etc. We will post results when
we have a complete medal count.

Dallas &
Irving Wind
& Fire Motorcycle Club held their 6th Annual
Parkland Foundation
Burn Camp Poker Run. This huge motorcycle ride benefits
Camp I-Thonka-Chi,
which is a camp for children that have survived profound burn
injuries. At Camp I-Thonka-Chi these kids can remember how to
laugh, swim, play in the mud, and just be plain old kids again
with other kids going through the same experiences. |

We did the Annual Fill-the-Boot fund
raising drive benefiting the
Muscular Dystrophy Association. In 3 days of harassing you at
various intersections around Irving, we raised more than $66,000.

July 2008
| This month we do the annual
School Supplies Drive, in conjunction with Mayor Herbert Gears, to
benefit the Irving ISD children from low-income families. |
December 2008
| In December we team up with our
brothers on the Police side for Blue
Christmas, which is huge food and toy drive that helps Irving
families. |
